Happy Meal = Gay Meal?
Not much seems to shock me these days, but I have to admit when I learned about McDonald’s recent activities, I must say it was a little shocking. What am I referring to? Well…McDonald’s recently signed onto the ‘gay’ agenda. Yes, the largest family restaurant put an executive on the board of a homosexual Chamber of Commerce. If you go to the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce’s website, it leads to a promotional advertisement for children’s Happy Meals at the McDonalds website. Since when did we confuse happy and gay?
McDonald’s restaurant’s have gained international fame with its Golden Arches, kids happy meals, and even Ronald McDonald, but signing on to promote “gay” and “lesbian” business ventures? I do not see the family-friendly tie in? Am I missing something here?
McDonald’s describes itself as “socially responsible.” In my opinion, there is a huge difference between social responsible and moral responsible. Why does a large corporation need to advance a gay agenda? In remarks on its website attributed to “Jim,” McDonald’s CEO Jim Skinner, says “Being a socially responsible organization is a fundamental part of who we are. We have an obligation to use our size and resources to make a difference in the world … and we do.”
There is also a fine line between “accepting” a group of people and promoting an ”agenda”. You can love the sinner and hate the sin, but to me this crosses the line of morality. As someone who believes and reads God’s Word, I welcome homosexuals to be treated with respect and dignity, but I do not believe corporations should go out of their way to back activities that clearly oppose God’s Word and traditional family values.
Yet another incentive for my family to drop a diet of fast food and continue seeking healthier alternatives…at stores that are not pushing an “agenda’. From now on the only happy meals we’ll be buying are the ones that make me happy because I know my family is eating healthy!

Sir Jay,
THANKS for bringing to the forefront the distinction between morally responsible/faith-based investing and socially responsible investing, particularly, in this case, with the reference to the support, direct or indirect, of the corporate sponsorship of homosexual activity, a.k.a. domestic partner benefits (DPB). Whether it is toleration (permitting of evil through inaction) or the DPB institutionalization in the workplace, within the corporate environment, investors have an opportunity to influence corporate activities by standing firm and not supporting an institution that thinks immoral activity is on the same level of the latest fad in being socially “responsible”. Thanks again.
Paul
This is sad. I always thought McDonalds was pro-family. Thank you Jay for your insight.

I have had my last McDonalds burger! If their burger didn’t make my stomach upset, this information did. I will spend God’s money at Chic-Fil-A check them out, close on Sundays! http://www.chick-fil-a.com/#home
Thanks Jay!
